Can't wait to get back in and continue my voyage in the PRAWN. I've already set up another base at the nexus, next to the containment facility and just before the ghost tree. In fact you only need enough aerogel pre-made to build a single plant, from there you can cultivate gel sacks and find plenty of rubies laying around to fabricate more for future plants at future bases. It's also hot enough and has regular smokestacks that you really only need to bring some magnetite and aerogel to get some thermal plants. Just bring a drill arm and you can mine any materials you'll need. There's SO MUCH down there in the acid pools (gold, copper, titanium, uraninite, silver, even table coral) that as long as you bring things like lubricant, magnetite, lead, and benzene, you can basically craft whatever you'll need to set up future bases down there without having to rely on the Cyclops or returning to a far away place to get more materials. The PRAWN has been indespensible in slipping past that asshole, I doubt the Cyclops would be able to sneak around it. I just don't want to take any risks getting it blown up. I have a lot of resources on the Cyclops but it's going to be my ticket back out once I explore the rest of the lost river and ILZ/ALZ. I set up a forward base at the lost river corridor from the blood kelp side using what was in the Cyclops + lots of mining of deposits in the acid pools. Needless to say, the rest of my voyage will be in the PRAWN. Once I hit the lost river, I saw a juvenile ghost leviathan hanging out in the corridor with the big skeleton. I decided to straight up turn around and go through the nearby blood kelp chasm to get to the lost river. As the leviathan moves through the water, it leaves trails in the water behind it.I stumbled into a ghost leviathan in the grand reef. Unlike the outer body, the inner body has a distinct, thin neck joining the head and body. The inner body is long and thin, and covered in pulsating, bioluminescent orange stripes with many orange tipped protrusions ending with blinking bioluminescent orange glows. The outer body is transparent, making the smaller, inner body visible. It has a rectangular mouth with a glowing barbule lure beneath. A small, decorative sail sits on top of the head, and two long structures protruding from either side of its head which bear similarities to the blades of a hammerhead shark. The Ghost Leviathan has a soft, transparent outer membrane covering a muscular, blue, inner body which features many darker blue stripes, four yellow, biolumenescent eyes as well as six, possibly vestigial fins on the torso section.

Despite being much smaller than the Sea Emperor Leviathan, its eggs are far larger. As the leviathans mature and become too large for their home, they migrate to the open, surface world biomes such as the Grand Reef and Blood Kelp Zone, until eventually migrating to the Dead Zone, continuing to grow and roam freely in the open water. The Ghost Leviathans' life cycle begins in the Lost River, as juveniles. According to PDA scan entries of the Cove tree, the eggs were laid there when the tree was small, and it has grown around the eggs to protect them until conditions are right to hatch. The Giant Cove Tree is the nesting ground of this leviathan species (although they are not present around the tree), with its massive glowing bulbs being their eggs. They will all pursue the player until the player returns to the playable area, upon which they will all retreat.

If the player stays in the area for another thirty seconds, a third and final Ghost Leviathan spawns in. If the player stays in the Crater Edge for thirty seconds, a second Ghost Leviathan will spawn. If the player enters the Crater Edge, a single Ghost Leviathan spawns in.

Six Ghost Leviathans spawn on the map: three juveniles in the Lost River, two adults in the Grand Reef, and one adult in the Northern Blood Kelp Zone.
